Are your beach house steps up to date?

A beach house is a wonderful luxury that many of us get to enjoy. These second homes are a fantastic way to get out of the daily grind and into a more relaxing environment but retain the comforts of home. Because of the coastal environment, it is common to find a staircase leading up a sand dune to get to one of these homes.

If your beach house has this feature, it's important that you keep up with regular maintenance on the structure. Since these steps can be steep and often are quite long, you want to make sure that they are always in good shape because the salty outdoor air will take its toll on your staircase sooner than it would in other environments.

You also want to make sure that your beach steps are well sanded, since many people will be climbing them without shoes on, and there's nothing worse than getting a splinter on your foot. As the warm season is just beginning, now is the time to make sure that your treads are in working order and that the handrail is reliable.

If you need to, sand or repaint the structure so that you can minimize the occurrence of splinters, and replace rotted or over-warn steps to ensure that it is safe enough to use.

It's important to keep your steps in good shape so that you can use your summer house for years to come. Stair Parts USA has a great selection of pieces and parts to keep your indoor or outdoor staircases in good working order.
