In some jurisdictions, the code may require that both ends of the handrail return to the wall using a level quarter turn. Other jurisdictions allow handrails to be finished with a returned end. Check your local code listings to determine your specific code requirements. When ordering the fittings to finish your handrail, be sure to order the fittings and handrail from the same company or you may not get a close fit.
Wall brackets should always be fastened securely to the studs in the wall. Handrail brackets should be placed near the ends of the handrail section as well as at least every four feet of running rail. It is not recommended that you use drywall hangers to hold handrail brackets.
Durable product at a reasonable value.
We decided we needed to add a stair rail along the inner wall of our staircase. The finishing choices allowed me to pick the right finish for my project. My husband has now installed the first inner wall railing along the short run off our staircase and it looks great. Looking forward to having the railing added along the wall on the right side of the remaining long run of stairs. The hardware is sturdy and securely in place, giving us additional support when we climb the stairs.
First time purchasing from this vendor but I can honestly say, I will be back next time I am in the market for stair parts.
Extremely sturdy heavy metal well designed and constructed. These brackets are approximately 2x heavier than similar "Heavy Duty" brackets sold at Home Depot which are about $1 less in cost.
