Sapele Mahagony
The increase in Sapele Mahogany flooring has driven the popularity of Sapele Mahogany stair parts. As Hondurian Mahogany becomes more difficult to acquire, woods like Sapele Mahogany have increased in demand. This wood stains or finishes well and is resistant to crushing. It does not steam bend well, and should not be considered for any purpose where steam bending is required. Sapele Mahogany will darken with age into a reddish brown color.
