Contains: 11" Newel Lag Bolt, 3/4" Nut, Curved Washer, 2 x 1-1/2" Wood Plugs (Oak & Maple)
If installing box newels, you'll need to combine the 3008 Newel Fastening system with the appropriately sized Newel Mounting Block for Box Newel (HM-BLOCK-8).

Better than expected!!
We are in the process of updating our home, which was built in 1961. One project was to update both the stair railings and a matching room divider, both of which included new newel posts. I found Stair Parts on line where the prices were reasonable and the selection varied enough to give us some choices. The products we purchased were great, identical to the description. Both arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The website also provided more than enough guidance to make me dangerous.

"Appropriately "sized blocks were the same size as the newel. Had to run through my bandsaw to cut to fit. Don't reccomend buying unless you purchase solid core newels. Way too much drilling and coring. I ordered what was recommended for my purchase too BTW!
