We ordered a rosette in hard maple and it looks like we received one in poplar instead.

Perfect crafted stair part for mounting the handrail
The wood rosettes were perfect for our application. Currently being painted to match the trim. Then we will mount the handrails and call it done!

Service from company was great!
Item was damaged during shipping (I presume). Fortunately, I was able to make a fix and complete the job. The item damaged was the end of 16' handrail--split a corner up about 4".
